ABSTRACT The present study aims to determine the effect of gypsum on the dynamics of nitrogen and on the production of dry matter of Italian ryegrass forage. The experiment was carried out on poor soil gypsum and limestone. Indeed, thirty six (36) treatments, arranged in split plot design with three replications in which three doses of organic matter of two types of manure: poultry manure and sheep manure and six rates of gypsum (0, 5, 10, 20, 40, 60%), were tested. The results obtained showed that the increased rate of gypsum, greater than 5%, causes a decrease of the weight of aerial dry matter and roots, low nitrogen mineralization and a small amount of nitrogen in the plant. Furthermore, the V2 dose of poultry manure and the treatment G5V2 are registered the most good results with all studied parameters. KEYWORDS: gypsum, dry matter, nitrogen, dynamic.
