من خلال إطلاعنا على العديد من الرسائل الجامعية في مجال الإدارة وخصوصا ما يتعلق بالجانب التطبيقي أو الدراسات الميدانية منها، وجدنا أنها بالإجمال ذات اتجاه واحد، أي أن الباحث هو الذي يتوجه إلى المنظمة المعنية بالتطبيق طالبا منها قبوله ومده بالبيانات على افتراض وجود مشكلة مدروسة من خلال إطلاع الباحث على واقع المنظمة أو القطاع المعني. وفي مجال الإدارة وتطبيقاتها يطرح السؤال: هل يتم تطبيق نتائج وتوصيات البحوث الإدارية في المؤسسات موضع البحث؟ وانطلاقا من هذا التساؤل، ركز بحثنا على معاينة مجموعة من البحوث العلمية المنجزة في مجال الإدارة في عدد من المؤسسات الأكاديمية السورية لمحاولة التعرف على مدى تطبيق المؤسسات، التي شكلت محور الدراسة الميدانية لتلك البحوث، للنتائج التي توصلت لها والتوصيات التي اعتمدتها لحل المشكلات التي تعانيها تلك المؤسسات وكيفية تطويرها والارتقاء بها.
